Bringing a new IP to market can be tough. From the initial internal pitch to full game production, Battlefield Hardline represents a fantastic collaboration between art director Ian Milham and visual studio Opus Artz.

You play as Nick Mendoza, an honest young detective trying to stop a flood of liquid cocaine called “Hot Shot.”

Your partners, detectives Khai Minh Dao (Kelly Hu) and Carl Stoddard (Travis Willingham), are vaguely dirty cops who appear willing to do whatever it takes to bring down “bad guys” at the behest of Captain Julian Dawes (Benito Martinez)

After the initial episodes in Miami, the game’s tone shifts completely and actually becames fun: a thrilling, rip-roaring caper with entertaining characters and lavish setpieces.

Battlefield: Hardline actually became a great action game.
